This project evaluates the serviceability parameters vibration and deflection properties of a floor element made from waste wood. The study has shown that floor elements made from waste wood performed acceptably to vibration and deformation criteria. Experimentally determining vibration properties to compare the analytical calculations would be interesting in the future.
The availability and economic factors must be considered if waste wood is to be used as a construction material on an industrial scale. One objective of the circWOOD-project is to evaluate the quantities and qualities of waste wood in Norway. This will indicate to what degree waste wood can be used in construction materials.
