The study on the operation of pulse-jet fabric filters in furniture industry

Pulse-jet fabric filters are often used while controlling industrial air pollution caused by wood dust in furniture production plants. High efficiency in the very large range of particle size and the possibility of operation at various parameters are the important reasons of their usefulness. Design of filter device and assumed operating parameters have significant influence on filter performance. The immediately reactions to any changes resulting from the modification of filtration parameters and filter load should be implemented to achieve appropriate operation of the filter. For the evaluation of the filter performance, observation of the process factors and their interactions in a working filter unit are necessary. Several factors which have influences on existing industrial devices such as dust load and dust characteristic, air-to-cloth ratio, filter construction and pulse-jet cleaning operation is described in this paper.
