Wood is a hydrophilic material and the moisture content of it depends from the relative humidity of environment. It’s known that the moisture content of wood have an influence to the burning properties of wood, and the objective of this experimental work is to investigate relationship between the moisture content of wood and the material reaction to fire. Panels of solid spruce (Picea Abies) wood with three different moisture contents were tested in accordance EN 13823 to determine fire development parameters such as FIGRA, THR, SMOGRA, TSP and classification by material reaction to fire in accordance with EN 13501-1 was done. The results of experiment show that the moisture content of wood have a great influence on material reaction to fire.
